KW - Fixed Wheel Motor Car Body Transport

During 1961 the _KF_ motor body transports were recoded to KW. This was to remove the last letter 'F' from vehicle codes which were not applicable to the new designation.

Only fifty eight KF wagons in the group 1 - 124 were converted to KW. The rest were scrapped or converted to other classes. To provide more KW wagons, another one hundred wagons were modified and classed KW in 1962.

These wagons were numbered 125 - 224. They were converted from the _I__ and _IA_ classes.

The KW numbers were: 1 - 3, 5, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17 - 19 21, 22, 24, 25, 27, 28, 34, 36, 39 41, 42, 47, 49, 54, 55, 57, 59, 60 62 - 67, 70 - 73, 76, 79, 80, 83, 84 86, 87, 90, 95, 96, 101, 104, 108, 109 111, 112, 115, 119, 121, 125 - 224.

Between 1962 and 1964 the vehicles in this class were progressively removed from service: scrapped or converted to other vehicles. In some cases they were restored to their original _I__ or _IA_ condition. Other classes they were modified to were: _DW_ water tanks, _IT_ timber trucks or KCC_ cement container wagons.
