In 1961, ten wagons were converted specifically for carrying domestic water. This was use by rail staff in departmental houses in dry areas of Victoria. These wagons supplemented _WT_ trucks in this service.
Number group for the wagons was 225 - 234. These numbers are from the _WT_ Water Truck block.
In the early 1980's, the underframes were in need of replacement. Several wagons were fitted with _RY_ underframes.
