In 1970 three _E__ wagons were converted for tallow traffic. The modified wagons were classed "QTF" and numbered 1, 2 and 3.
Tallow traffic was the transfer of animal fats in insulated containers. Exact traffic and direction not known, though loading/unloading was done in the "Canal Zone" near Footscray Road, Melbourne. One traffic location was to/from Bairnsdale.
This traffic was also carried by the QCX_ flat wagons.
In 1978, the wagons were converted to _HR_.
