VFRX / VZRX / VFRY / VZRF - Welded Rail Transport

Twenty two flat wagons were modified to carry welded rail length. These wagons were fitted with end bulkheads to stop rail movement and side lift cranes for discharging rails at trackside. These wagons replaced the _KR_ group of fixed wheel and short bogie flat wagons.

The number group is 301 to 322.

The VFRX numbers were 301, 307, 309 - 313, 315 - 322. These wagons were converted from the VFKX class.

The VFRY numbers were 302 - 306, 308, 314. These wagons were converted from the VFKY class.

The conversions were done in 1984.

During 1988/1989 the rail transport vehicles were given departmental service codes. The same numbers were kept.

The VFRX wagons were reclassed to VZRX.

The VFRY wagons were reclassed to VZRF.
