Several _HR_ transports were used to transfer locomotive bogies between workshops and and major loco depots.
In 1985 the two remaining wagons in this service were recoded to HZL. A conversion ex _GY_ also entered service.
HZL 210 was converted from GY 5207, HZL 212 was ex HR 78 (2nd) and HZL 216 was ex HR 148 (2nd).
Unfortunately the first HR 148 was a fixed wheel wagon and was replaced by a bogie vehicle conversion, SX 3, about 1980. This mistake was corrected in about 1986 when HZL 216 was reclassed to VZLA 81.
The HZL group has missing numbers. This suggests the conversions were organised by a list and that many HR wagons were removed from service before the recodings took place.
