BCM - 2nd Class Swing Door Motor Carriage

BCM Second Class motor carriages were converted from _BC_ Second Class car/vans.

A description of the conversion is in the ACM_ car history.

BCM's were placed into service between 1919 and 1921. There were only twenty seven cars, numbered 1 - 27.

These cars were recoded to _M__ between 1921 and 1924. BCM 1 - 27 became M 128 - 154.

Some of the BCM cars were significant, either for discrepancies in records or enlightenment of past events:

  1. BCM 21 has been found to have two dates for conversion to M: 1922 and again in 1924
  2. BCM 22 has two dates for conversion to electric car from BC 38: 1919 and again in 1921
  3. BCM 27 was converted from a 45' body to a 59'9" body and electric traction when converted from carriage _AB_ 45. Most cars had already been lengthened prior to electrification.
