Back in 1973 I started modeling N scale Victorian Railways. I was inspired by Terry Clark who was then scratch building the New South Wales scene.A common problem facing modelers and historians of the VR scene was a lack of information. In order to provide an information base for my future modeling efforts, I began to photograph and observe the VR "rolling stock". At the time I was employed by Victorian Railways as a trainee locomotive driver and I used this as an information gathering platform lasting for twenty years.
