In 1988, the 'Fire Attack Wagon' _HD_ 230 was individually classed to VZAA 230.
The vehicle was built as _TT_ 12 in 1890, renumbered to _BB_ 8, then to _BA_ 8. It was scrapped in 1962. In 1968 the underframe was used to build HD 230.
HD 230 was fitted with pumps and high pressure spray nozzles. It ran on a train of water tank wagons and was able to spray water on rail property. A feature of the wagon was the ability to spray water down onto the track from nozzles placed along the underframe sides.
