VFHX - Bogie Log Transport

Late 1995, two VFNX were modified for the transportation of logs. Modifications included the fitting of floor bolsters and stantions. This equipment came from Tasmania. Conversions were done at the Goninan workshops, Bendigo.

VFNX 122 and 144 were converted to VFHX 122 and 144 respectively.

The log traffic is for export. It originates out of Warragul. The wagons have been sighted at Geelong, presumably the unloading point.

The 'H' in the class represents the next unused letter in the 'VF' sequence, not for the regional marketing manager who organised the traffic ( Mr Holmes ).

More VFNX wagons were in storage at Bendigo in 1996. At the time more conversions appeared in doubt.
