In the early 1950's the VR took control of the Kerang and Koondrook Tramway, a small rail branch run by the Kerang Shire.
Amongst the stock aquired was a locally built railmotor made of a truck and semi trailer coach. The coach body appears to have been old railway fixed wheel carriage possibly of South Australian heritage. This railcar was assembled in 1943.
The railmotor was placed into rail service on 1/2/1952. No doubt it remained running the branchline service until replaced in 1958.
In 1958 it was sold and went to Elmore.
Unsuccesful efforts were made to purchase the body in the 1990's.
