
The K class were built at Newport Workshops between 1922 and 1946.
The engines were numbered 140 - 192.
They were a 'light lines' engine serving 60lb rail branch lines, though they could be used as required.
Several engines are preserved with some in active service on historical specials.
K 151, as shown in the photo, was used as stationary boiler at Newport Workshops.
