In 1960, ten bogie sheepvans were modified with passenger speed bogies, fitted with side lamp brackets and tail discs. The class allotted was LP.
The LP numbers were 1 - 10. They were converted from _LL_vans numbered 16, 28, 45, 27, 44, 12, 15, 6, 8, 50 respecively.
Main traffic area was on the Mildura line, on fast freight trains. Whether the vans actually ran behind passenger trains is not known.
During 1974/1975 the vans were fitted with freight bogies and reclassed to _LF_. On conversion, the wagons took back their LL numbers. At the time most LL wagons had already been converted to LF.
The LF wagons ex LP could be readily identified as the extra fittings were not removed.
