With the introduction of new express passenger stock in 1907, thoughts must have turned to a new regal car design.
State Car 4 was built in 1912.
The "State Cars" used to transport Royalty, the Australian representatives of Royalty ( Governer-General ) and notable visitors.
The car features bathrooms, kitchen, dining section, main berths and wardrobes for guests and attendees rooms for those serving the guests. The car has a platform, used to view the visitors at train stop locations.
The car has been on many trips over the years.
At 1997, it was stored at Seymour.
