Some wagons were in use in workshops and depots that were not "Registered" as they were in limited departmental traffic and rarely ventured onto the main line. Only a few wagons existed that were conversions from the existing fleet. In most cases the un-registered vehicles belong within the respective class groups. The tank wagon above is perhaps the only ony one that was used in in regular oil transfer between Newport and Ballarat. By 1975, it was unused and in storage at Newport Workshops.
